Red Shirts Believe in ... LOYALTY

Loyalty may not be valued today, but Red Shirts believe it is an essential trait. The Fraternity has expressed its loyalty to Ouachita in many ways. Our most visible events over the years have been in support of Ouachita and her athletic teams. The Red Shirts have won so many Tiger spirit competitions that we were awarded permanent custody of both the Henderson pep rally and the football run-throughs used to focus the Tiger Trail at home games. Although originally given custody of the Touchdown Cannon, we ceded it to Sigma Alpha Sigma when the administration feared a Red Shirt monopoly of school spirit. Bells have traditionally been used to summon loyalty, calling forth both the faithful and the warriors, so we annually guard the Tiger statue and summon forth the Spirit of Victory each year through the All-Night Bell-Ring. We also sponsor the Torchlight Parade and Bonfire each year, and we are always there to support the teams by ringing our famous cowbells.
