Recognizing scholarship and participation

Recognition of scholastic achievement and extra-curricular participation are other goals of Rho Sigma. Red Shirts have long been involved in campus clubs and activities, usually in positions of leadership. In 2006-07, our annual Game Ball Relay Run to SAU in Magnolia benefited the Scott Neathery Fund, raising over $2,000. In April 2008, we were again the top fund-raising team in Arkansas in the annual MS Walk, raising nearly $27,000 for multiple sclerosis. Rho Sigma also sponsored the first Spring Football Games for the athletic department in Spring 2007. We entertained as French chefs in the Fall 2007 Tiger Tunes and hosted an alumni reception for Homecoming. For the HSU game, we hosted the first annual Battle of the Ravine Festival, which included the All-Night Bell-Ring, Tiger guard, torchlight parade, bonfire, and games. Rho Sigma also sponsored several campuswide parties, helped students during Freshman Move-In, participated in intramural sports, helped out on Tiger Serve Day, and generally made our presence felt on campus. Red Shirts also posted an impressive record of scholarship. Rho Sigma has always maintained a cumulative grade point average higher than the all-mens average and is usually at or near the top of fraternities, usually placing several members on the Dean's and President's Lists.
